Progressive Disciplinary ResponsesAt this point in the year, we have gone over behavior expectations in detail with each grade level four times at the beginning of the quarter in the auditorium. In addition, many students have had multiple conversations about choices with teachers and administration. We are at a critical time in the year with testing and other events. At this point, students will be held to a higher standard and repeat offences of incidents such as classroom disruption, inappropriate physical contact, and horseplay may result in out-of-school suspension instead of in-school suspension. Please encourage your child to come to school every day ready to learn and put their best foot forward as we try to complete this year in a positive, successful manner. Thank you!
TNReady/TCAP Testing begins this weekTis the season for all things testing! On Monday, we will begin by moving to our testing locations first thing in the morning. There students will take a short practice test to try out the computer "TestNav" system. This will ensure they know how to answer questions on the tests they are taking in the coming days. Each testing day, we will focus on only a few sections at a time. It's very important that students are able to finish each section in a calm and uninterrupted space. Since testing is in the morning, please make every effort to have your student arrive to school on time at 8:55. Additionally, please do not pick up your student from school before noon each day. Some students do have extended time on their tests which is not indicated on the schedule below.
Tuesday (4/16) - English Part 1 Wednesday (4/17) - English Parts 2 & 3 Thursday (4/18) - English Part 4 Friday (4/19) - Social Studies Parts 1 & 2
Tuesday (4/23) - Math Part 1 Wednesday (4/24) - Math Parts 2 & 3 Thursday (4/25) - Science Parts 2 & 3
Other days on the schedule are for make-ups. When students try their best, behave properly, and complete all their tests, then they will be able to participate in our TCAP Party on Friday, May 3rd!
Thank you for doing your part to help your students show what they have learned this year at West End!
